Open-source password manager: unlimited passwords and devices on the free tier, cross-platform sync, autofill. Officially self-hostable, and the community-run Vaultwarden server is a lightweight alternative implementation for orgs that want to run it themselves.
Usage Notes
A genuinely strong LastPass replacement: LastPass suffered a major 2022 breach in which encrypted customer vaults were stolen, and Bitwarden is meaningfully cheaper at the team tier ($4/user/mo vs LastPass Teams at $7/user/mo). For a shoestring-budget org, the free tier alone often covers day-to-day needs without ever needing the paid plan.
