Usage Notes

Registration: does NOT require a full 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter to sign up -- but does require an EIN and a bank account in the org's own name, plus being "registered in some form" (e.g. state nonprofit incorporation, or an IRS determination request already filed). A personal bank account can't be substituted even for a bona fide nonprofit-in-formation. Full 501(c)(3) status is only needed later, to unlock automatic tax-deductible receipt generation. Also only available in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. Net effect: gated on us filing state nonprofit paperwork and getting an EIN first, not on federal tax-exempt approval -- closer to ready than Zeffy's marketing implies, but not usable today.
