End-to-end encrypted video meetings from Proton, built on the open MLS (Messaging Layer Security) protocol. Swiss-based and subscription-funded, positioned as a privacy-respecting drop-in replacement for Zoom.
Usage Notes
Swiss jurisdiction keeps it outside direct US CLOUD Act reach. Proton states it does not train AI on call content, a direct contrast with Zoom's evolving AI terms. No self-hosting option -- calls run on Proton's own infrastructure. As a newer product it has no webinar or breakout-room tier yet, so it fits small-team meetings better than large public events.
