Usage Notes
Registration: no registered-charity status required -- Chuffed accepts campaigns from individuals, social enterprises, unregistered community groups, and religious organizations, provided the cause is social/environmental/political/community-focused and the organizer has a bank account and ID in an eligible country. Caveat: donations to non-registered-charity campaigns are NOT tax-deductible for donors unless a separate fiscal-sponsorship/auspicing arrangement is set up with an established charity -- Chuffed does not provide or broker that arrangement itself.
Track record: used as a landing spot by The Sameer Project after GoFundMe froze their Gaza-relief funds, though the Chuffed campaign raised only a fraction of what they'd raised on GoFundMe before the freeze -- reach/discoverability appears to be the tradeoff for lower deplatforming risk. No deplatforming controversies surfaced for Chuffed itself in this research pass.
